Compersion
The warm, positive feeling some people get from seeing a partner happy with someone else — often described as the opposite of jealousy.
What it feels like
Compersion isn't the absence of jealousy so much as a different response to the same situation: genuine gladness that someone you love is having a good experience. It's common in non-monogamous relationships, but it isn't a requirement or a test — feelings are mixed, and that's normal.
Working with your feelings
Noticing what triggers jealousy versus compersion, and talking about it, is more useful than aiming to feel one thing. A private space to reflect on how a connection feels over time can make those patterns easier to see and discuss.
