Kneeling embrace
Also known as kneeling face-to-faceupright kneelkneeling hug
The Kneeling embrace has both partners kneeling and facing each other, bodies pressed and arms wrapped — an upright, intimate position built around closeness and eye contact.
The gist
Both partners kneel upright and hold each other close, which keeps faces, chests, and hands all in contact at once. It's tender and connective, well suited to slow pacing, and easy to shift into or out of from the bed or floor.
Step by step
Both partners kneel facing each other on a soft surface.
Move close, wrap your arms around each other, and press your bodies together.
Find a gentle, swaying rhythm.
Adjust knee width for balance and comfort.
Tips
- A pillow or folded blanket under the knees makes this far more comfortable to hold.
- Because your hands and mouths are free, it's great for kissing and roaming touch.

Face-to-face on your sides
